AMBULANCE PERSONNEL SHALL NOT:-

• Wear gloves at the head office unless required.
• Provide ambulance services on a credited basis unless sanctioned by the ambulance Manager/designate.
• Not accept personal cheques unless sanctioned by the Ambulance Manager/designate.
• Accept gifts or tips directly from a customer. Such should be directed to Corporate Headquarters on the Employee's behalf.
• Use the Ambulance vehicle to conduct personal business.
• Move equipment from one unit to another without seeking permission from the Ambulance manager, Shift Supervisor or appointed designate.
• Lend or borrow any ambulance equipment without approval from the ambulance Manager/Designate.
• Leave the ambulance idling with air-conditioning unit operational.
• Socialize or otherwise loiter in the back area (by the seaside) whilst of duty. (Applicable to employees working at Westshore.)
• Borrow or attempt to borrow money from co-workers.
• Use security access cards to access Head Office whist off-duty or on leave.
• Swap shifts with co workers without prior approval from the ambulance manager/designate.
• Adorn the company uniform with additional paraphernalia [i.e. earphones, jackets, etc] whilst on or reporting for duty unless sanctioned by management. All personnel must be fully attired in company uniform whilst on duty.
• Proceed on any time-off be it vacation, casual or sick without notifying the ambulance Coordinator, Shift Supervisor or designate in accordance with the [HR-003] Leave Provision
• Disregard instructions of the ambulance manager/designate relative to ones duty roster.
• Adhere to Archangel Ambulance Services Employee Handbook, reference use of warning devices.

AMBULANCE PERSONNEL SHALL:

• Be scheduled to work a minimum of eight (8) hours per shift.
• Use Bio-hazard bags at all times when transporting dirty linen.
• Inspect ambulances at the end of each shift and document findings using [AMB-F015] Ambulance Vehicle Checklist.
• Clean Ambulances at the end of every shift and deep clean unit Saturdays or as directed by the ambulance manager/designate. Additionally the ambulance must be deep cleaned after every run with a patient who has or is suspected of having an easily communicable disease.
• Fully complete required documentation.
• Ascertain that [AMB-F007] Patient Information & Response Record forms are stamped and endorsed prior to the end of shift at the employ of all Health Facilities.
• Place all ambulance generated waste in a bio-hazard bag and take to any of the prescribed facilities for incineration.
• "Spot" the Ambulance Driver when reversing the ambulance unit. (Ambulance Attendant)
• At all times familiarize themselves with the retainer locations. (Locations that pay monthly for on-call services)
• Start and end their shifts at Head office unless otherwise directed. (Applicable to employees working out of Macoya, Westshore, Arima, Caura or any other location as directed by the ambulance manager/designate.
• Always be equipped with a trauma bag when on standby duties.
• Contact head office every Friday at noon to request weekend stock.
• Report incidents and accidents verbally to the ambulance manager, shift supervisor or designate as soon as practicable. A written report of the incident/accident must be submitted before the end of the shift. Furthermore all vehicular problems must be recorded in the vehicle log book to ensure that they are dealt with.
• Only refuel vehicles with the accompaniment of the shift supervisor/designate where practicable.
• Contact head office at the end of every fortnight to receive their roster. (Physical rosters must be collected and signed for as soon as practicable.)
• Collect their payslips by the 6th of the following month.
• Park ambulance units in the designated area/s whilst on ASSL premises. The unit must reverse park to ensure prompt emergency response and to allow for a quick exit in the event of an emergency.
• Contact Shift Supervisors/designate to report current status (as it relates to the ambulance unit, ambulance attendant and driver)
• Inform the shift supervisor/designate on commencement and completion of patient moves.

FIREARM GUARDS SHALL NOT:-

• Leave his/her place of work unless properly relieved.
• Lend the firearm entrusted to him to anyone for any purpose whatsoever.
• Hand over to any unauthorized person the firearm and ammunition issued to him/her for the purpose of his duty.
• Omit to follow the safety precautions and safe handling of a firearm and ammunition while carrying, taking or handing over.
• Travel in any vehicle other than the company's while on duty and in the possession of Firearm and ammunitions while on duty.
• Engage in unnecessary conversation with civilian personnel while in the possession of Firearm and ammunition while on duty.
• Engage in any activity that could compromise his alertness while on duty.

SECURITY PERSONNEL SHALL NOT:-

1. Neglect nor without due and sufficient cause, omit to promptly and diligently discharge a required task whilst on duty.
2. Leave the place of work without due permission.
3. Knowingly make or sign any false verbal or written statement of whatever description.
4. Without due and sufficient cause, destroy, mutilate, alter or erase any document or record.
5. Without due authority, divulge any matter which is confidential in nature to the Employer or his Clients past or present.
6. Corruptly solicit or receive any bribe or other consideration from any person or fail to account for monies or property received in connection with the Employer's business.
7. Be uncivil to persons encountered in the course of work, or make unnecessary use of authority in connection with the discharge of the Employer's business.
8. Act in a manner reasonably likely to bring discredit upon the Employer, The Client or fellow employees.
9. Feign or exaggerate any sickness or injury with a view to evading work. [malingering]
10. Wear the Employer's uniform or use his equipment without due authority.
11. Work whilst under the influence of alcohol or consume any alcoholic beverages whilst on duty.
12. Gossip with other officers, employees, and members of the public whilst on duty.
13. Abandon or desert the Post before being properly relieved.
14. Sleep whilst on duty.
15. Report late for duty or be habitually tardy for duty.
16. Use the Client's telephone for private business.
17. Borrow or attempt to borrow money from the Client or his employees.
18. Solicit food from the Client, his employees or members of the public.
19. Use obscene language on the Client's premises or in public.
20. Steal the Employer’s or Client's property.
21. Carry or smoke cigarettes while on duty.
22. Use liquids or drugs whilst on duty which are likely to induce drowsiness.
23. Use any narcotic or prohibited substances whilst on or off duty.
24. Allow persons to loiter on or around the Post or permit unauthorized persons or vehicles to enter the compound.
25. Make pre-entries in the pocket or post diaries or any other records.
26. Make any false or misleading entries in the Post or pocket diaries.
27. Form a particular pattern of patrolling.
28. Take off the lights in the Guard Booth at night.
29. Change or leave any items of uniform on the Client's premises.
30. Allow their personal feelings towards their fellow employees and/or the Employer affect their performance of duty.
31. Become too friendly with Client's employees at their assigned Post.
32. Take a person's word or anything for granted. [Investigate all reports and incidents thoroughly].
33. Wear excessive make up and or trinkets whilst on duty.
34. Wear hair on their head too long or maintain beards while on duty [Male Officers].
35. Get into physical confrontation or argument with members of the public, Clients and or fellow employees whilst on duty.
36. Eat in public whilst in uniform.
37. Appear improperly dressed in uniform while in public view or otherwise on duty.
38. Report for duty or appear in public in dirty and unkempt uniform.
39. Salute without headdress when in uniform.
40. Sign a Handover without checking to make sure that the property handed over is correct and in order.
41. Be discourteous, disrespectful, and abusive or insulting to the Client, his employees or the public.
42. Alter the uniform trousers by turning the bottom into a "gun-mouth".
43. Be disloyal to your Employer.
44. Lend or borrow any item of uniform.
45. Carry any reading material or musical instrument to their Post.
46. Report for duty without proper writing material - black/blue and red ink pens and a timepiece.
47. Mimic on the Walkie-talkie or telephone.
48. Follow the pattern or advice of "Slack" Guards.
49. Be disrespectful to their superiors or colleagues.
50. Use their uniform to gain free admittance to any public or private entertainment or transport.
51. Violate Standing Orders 31 and 32, which deals with the Pocket and Post [Station] Diary.
52. Withhold valuable information from the Company.

Examples of Infractions:-

The following are examples of infractions of rules of conduct that may result in the disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment:

• Any act that will bring the organization in disrepute;
• Breaches of company policies and procedures;
• Beaches in the company code of conduct and ethics;
• Theft or inappropriate removal of possession or property;
• Possession, distribution, sale, transfer, or use of alcohol or illegal drugs in the workplace, while on duty, or while operating employer-owned vehicles or equipment;
• Fighting or threatening violence in the workplace;
• Boisterous or disruptive activity in the workplace;
• Negligence or improper conduct leading to damage of employer-owned or customer-owned property;
• Insubordination or other disrespectful conduct;
• Violation of safety or health rules;
• Smoking in prohibited areas;
• Sexual or other unlawful or unwelcome harassment;
• Possession of dangerous or unauthorized materials, such as explosives or firearms, in the workplace;
• Excessive absenteeism or any absence without notice;
• Unauthorized absence from work station during the workday;
• Unauthorized or inappropriate use of telephones, mail system, or other employer-owned equipment;
• Unauthorized disclosure of business "secrets" or confidential information;
• Violation of personnel policies;
• Unsatisfactory performance or conduct;
